While we were on Kangaroo Island, we had to see the fairy penguins. Unfortunately (for the photos, at least), we were staying at a hotel with an exceptional gourmet restaurant. We went rather late and not only was it very dark, but the penguins had mostly gone to sleep. The images in this gallery were taken by red flashlight using an 85mm f/1.2 lens on an otherwise pitch black night. These are interesting... slightly interesting.
